Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabwean President, recently laid the first brick at the start of the Beethoven Hotel and Harare Hippodrome Conference Centre development. This new conference centre will be the biggest Zimbabwe has developed to date.

The property, Beethoven Hotel, will have 40 executive rooms on offer while the conference centre, the Hippodrome Conference Centre, will be able to accommodate over 6 000 delegates. The completion and opening dates have not been announced yet, but President Mnangagwa attended the ground-breaking ceremony and said “This is indeed a welcome development that will contribute to the achievement of the objectives outlined in the National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy, with regard to tourism infrastructure development.”

This development aims to present Zimbabwe as a prime tourism destination and host of larger conferences, events and exhibitions.
