South Africans are welcomed in Zanzibar.

Tanzanian officials created some controversy when they announced in early May that all visitors to their country would be required to quarantine for 14 days of mandatory self-isolation.

Since, officials have clarified that only travellers who visited India or travelled through India will be required to do the 14-day quarantine in government-designated facilities, at their own cost.

All travellers entering Tanzania are still subject to general Covid-19 prevention measures such as hand hygiene, face masks, health information cards, surveillance forms, PCR test certificates from tests taken inside 72 hours, and rapid tests at +/- R362 on arrival in Tanzania.
