The UK government has announced that they are in the process of setting up a new Border Operations Centre, which it says will ensure round-the-clock surveillance of goods and passengers coming in and out of British ports for the first time. New cutting-edge software will be put in place to monitor the entering or exiting of the UK at its borders, as of January 2021.

They’ve also reduced the quarantine period for travelers arriving from high-risk destinations from 14 to 10 days (as of 14 December 2020).
