Plettenberg Bay, a seaside town on the Garden Route, is mostly known for its sandy Central and Lookout beaches – ideal for surfers. However, the tourist-friendly town is also an ideal location for whale watchers, local corporate travellers and ocean-lovers alike. The town’s proximity to the trails at Robberg Nature Reserve, the historic Stone Age Nelson Bay Caves, Birds of Eden (a free-flight bird sanctuary in an indigenous forest), and an elephant sanctuary makes it the ideal change of scenery for South Africans needing a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Plettenberg Bay has been nominated as Africa’s Best Beach Destination for the 12th consecutive year by The World Travel Awards. The winning destination will be announced in the 2nd half of 2021.
