BOTSWANA FREES UP LAND FOR TOURISM

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism of Botswana Mr. Onalenna Mokgachane has advised that they have reserved 45 wilderness camps for tourism development.

Botswana is best known for its tourism offering that includes game drives, balloon safaris, boat cruises and mokoro rides. These activities are centred around wilderness viewings and Botswana’s rich cultural and ancestral history. Adding 45 new wilderness camps will add to Botswana’s travel and tourism offering and the allocation, as stipulated by Mr. Mokgachane, will be 100% to locally owned companies and consortia.

The Ministry has also advised that they will also open forest reserves for tourism development through site identification for lodges, campsites and other tourism activities.
